A report of the Workshop Dr.T.Hanuman Choudary , a well known personality in the Tele Communications field has delivered the Inaugural address. He has traced the origin of Mathematics from the ancient day, and made a very strong point that the Indian saints and sages like Bhaskaracharya and Sridhara Chary a gave a beginning to mathematics. With his highly intellecutal and vedic knowledge , he tried to corelate the Indian and Western theory of Astronomical Scinece and proved that the Indian Mathematicians surpassed all the other earlier scientist's in the world. Dr. choudary stressed upon the fact that the modern Science and Education is strongly rooted in ancient Indian Science and Mathematics.
Mr.Sinivas Kumar Head ,Product Division, Sierra Atlantic Software Ltd ,Hyderabad, spoke on the importance of the software Mathematica in education.
The inaugual session was followed by Technical Session .Prof K.Satya Narayana Department of Mathematics , O.U., chaired the session.There were two presentations in this session.
Dr.K.Annapurna, Head Department of Mathematics gave a presentation of Basics of Mathematica.
Mr.S.Ram Prasad presented Mathematica's capabilities and showed a pictorial representation of users of Mathematica.He also gave a Mathematical model of the Tusanami using Mathematica. The technical session is followed by Lunch. After Lunch the participants attended the practical session Mathematics Laboratory. There were 24 participats form 20 colleges in the twin cities.
