Awareness of the cultural heritage of our nation helps students have a better and more meaningful academic life while they are studying in college. Keeping this view in mind R.B.V.R.R Women’s College has constituted a cultural committee to mould students into better citizens of the nation. As the soil however rich cannot be productive without culture, so the mind without cultivation can never produce good fruit.
The Objectives of the Cultural Committee :
1. To Promote cultural spirit among students, through exposure to various art forms.
2. To develop the personality of the students by providing them a platform to express and show their talents.
3. To create awareness of social problems through various art forms.
4. To expose the students to the Indian spiritual thought by inviting spiritual leaders from the Ramakrishna Mission etc.
2004 has been an eventful year not only as “Golden Jubilee Year” but also for conducting many cultural events starting with the screening of a documentary on “The Splendour of Andhra” made by eminent jurist and nonagenarian Sri P.R.Ramachandra Rao.
“Lakshman Rekha” was staged by Asmita, a well-known Women's Organisation which depicted the treatment meted out to women from epic times to modern day.
A grand four-hour cultural programme of music, skits, dance, role play, one act plays.“Women of India” representing every state was staged by the staff of the college. Retired staff including the former principals, and also the present staff preseneted programmes to a big gathering of more than three thousand students.
Thus R.B.V.R.R Women's College has its cultural roots laid down as firmly as the foundation of the college, which was laid by none other than the eminent teacher- philosopher Sri Sarvepalli RadhaKrishnan.
